blog :: network 4 web renegades & vagabonds

Matilda of Network West, Matt of MOAT (Matt of All Trades)
and I (digitalKulcha's Big Mama), spent most of yesterday moaning about how trying to affect change in some community organisations is important but sometimes extremely frustrating work.

We talked about how isolating it is to be a community web worker in such a context and have decided to do something about it. If you are such a person and would like to join a network we are garnering interest in the need for such a group. (read on for more details of the group and its aims)

We have started a Facebook group with a view of meeting up face to face (muuuuch better for off-the-record, off-the-cuff, off-the-wall spleen venting endeavours). So put in a search for 'Web Workers for Community, Creativity and Change' and consider joining the discussion.

Description ::

'Web Workers for Community, Creativity and Change' is a ragtag mob of web renegades + vagabonds from different backgrounds + weird, wonderful talents who have one thing in common: a belief that a committed community has the power to change the world one bit + byte at a time.

Working in a community or non profit organisation trying to drive change but feeling thwarted and frustrated?

Do you have a passionate belief that new technologies can contribute to local and global solutions?

Do you miss not having a group pf like minded colleagues/evangelists to play/network/problem-solve with or bitch to?

If you are working in any aspect of social media this group is for you.
